Lin Chi Ling's luggage was broken into; NT$ 200 000 worth of loss!

Last night, Lin Chi Ling (林志玲), traveled from Beijing to Malaysia in order to promote her new movie The Treasure Hunter (刺陵). She arrived at the airport around 10pm. Since she had taken the business class, her luggage should have been one of the first to arrive at the baggage claim. However, it was over an hour before her luggage appeared with 9 bags from the airplane staff.

Lin Chi Ling originally did not suspect anything until she arrived at her hotel and discovered that the baggage lock was pried open. One expensive brandname watch and some jewelery were missing. The vanished products are estimated to be worth 200 thousand New Taiwan Dollars!

After the discovery, Lin Chi Ling immediately reported her loss to the airport customs. At this point, there are still no answers to the investigation.

Lin Chi Ling was not in a good mood yesterday. She expressed: "The day before when I was in Beijing, there was no problem. Why after arriving in Malaysia, my things went missing! I'm a bit unhappy. "

Lin Chi Ling's agent said: "Lin Chi ling is always very careful. Shes traveled to so many places and has never experience this situation. In 9 lugguages, only hers was found to be missing something. I'm suspicious that there might be something fishy with Malaysia's airport customs."

Singer, Rene Liu (刘若英) being Sued by downstairs neighbour

Singer, Rene Liu, 刘若英, is currently living in the WenShan district in a 10 million dollar (Taiwanese dollars) mansion. About three years ago, she renovated her apartment and installed a massage jacuzzi.

Her neighbour downstairs claimed that everytime Rene took a bath, water leaked downstairs to the neighbour's apartment causing mold.

The neighbour is sueing Rene for 1.5 million (Taiwan dollars) to compensate for damages and emotional suffering.

Rene's lawyer has stated that if required to pay the compensation, she will take responsibilty of paying. However, there is no evidence that any leak was caused by Rene's renovation and situation should be judged by the court.

There's been a little bit more news being reported about Loretta Lee (李丽珍)　recently then in the previous five years because word has it that she is hoping to return to the entertainment industry.

Back in 2004, rumours about her having an affair with a married hair stylist, Jacky Ma caused a decline in her popularity. (There were even reports saying that she lived with Jacky and his wife and participated in threesomes with them). She pretty much stayed out of the limelight after that.

Loretta Lee recently lost a lot of weight to become a spokesperson for a weight loss company. She also just signed a contract with a beauty company that has treated her face with botox and laser therapy to thin her face and remove age spots and freckles.

I find that it is always difficult for female celebrities in Asia to crawl their way back to popularity when scandals ruin their careers. (Quite the opposite of North America where scandals can make a career! - Think, Paris Hilton.)

It is definitely admirable of Loretta to make changes to her life now! Plus, she looks great for someone who is almost 45 years old!

WHY show cleavage and then cover it up with a wrap?
The hotel room was cold, xiao jie.
Three hot-blooded males and I entered the suite in Hong Kong’s Four Seasons for a quick interview with Lin Chi-ling ( 林志玲), Taiwanese model-turned-actress who is voted one of Asia’s most beautiful women.
The guys naturally found her hot; I thought her impossibly nice.
She occasionally pulled the shawl across her strapless black-and-white print sheath of a dress.
We’d met in Cannes – her first outing – last year to promote Red Cliff, John Woo’s historical epic.
Critics and netizens were not kind. Adjectives ran the gamut from “soulless” to “empty vessel”.
She was just 30, playing the teenage beauty from Romance Of The Three Kingdoms. The casting incensed fans of the classic.
“But she is inexperienced!” they protested. They doth protest a tad too much. She was nominated for a Hong Kong Film Award for Best Newcomer for Red Cliff. Humbled, honoured, peers, yadda-yadda.

We met again in July this year at a Louis Vuitton party in Singapore.
She’d completed filming the Chinese action blockbuster The Treasure Hunter.
Cluelessly, I’d asked if she was the treasure being hunted.
Squeals of unadulterated delight. “Oh, that is so nice, nobody ever said that to me before!”
The Chinese media wanted her sound bites, her minder led her away, but not before she sweetly said: “If you have any more questions, you can come and ask me any time.”
So here we were in Hong Kong, Chi-ling is the VIP guest at the launch of LG Electronics’ Chocolate phone in its Black Label series, and we can have 15 minutes with her.
Again the squeal: “Oh, how are you, nice to see you again!”
But enough about me.
Lin Chi-ling (nicknamed “ice cream”) is 35 this week, 1.76m in her stockings. She left her native Taipei at 15 for further studies in Canada and majored in Western art, history and economics at the University of Toronto.
So she speaks pretty decent English, xie xie.
She returned East and in five years, 1999 to 2004, made her million New Taiwan dollars from catwalk shows and TV commercials and endorsements.

You name it, she slathered it on – milk foam bath, such-and-such yoghurt. Plus she was the It girl for China Airlines – the national carrier even sold her figurines.
These last three years, FHM’s (Taiwan) polled her the sexiest woman. This year Jolin Tsai and Megan Fox are runners-up.
On being a sex symbol, she said: “It can take a lot of maintenance, but I think it’s not the dress you wear, but how you talk, confidence.”

Like The Treasure Hunter, how was Jay Chou to work with?
Chi-ling and Jay are currently two of Taiwan’s hottest headlining names. The Treasure Hunter, which opens in cinemas here on 31 Dec, is an action flick about buried treasure (no!) and the map keeper (no, really?) and his mentor’s daughter.
If you’re thinking Lara Croft: Tomb Raider... close.
“Jay’s nice, he’s a joker, I didn’t have many stunts to do, but it was challenging,” she said of the action set in the desert.
(If you study the movie poster, you’ll notice she has very big feet!) According to media reports, she’ll be singing the ending theme song of the movie, titled Fly Me Away – music by Jay, lyrics by Chi-ling.
Jay – who also produced and played the Inner Mongolian instruments used in the song – decided to let her flex her vocal chops after hearing her hum away on the set.
Mr Wu Dun, chairman of Chang Hong Channel Film & Video, which produced the film, had said: “Chi-ling is a girl who’s very serious about her work.
“Everyone felt her first recording was already very good. Jay also gave his okay, but she felt she sounded like a baby, so she requested to record once more to change the ‘baby voice’. She’s very professional.”
In defence of her second acting job, The Treasure Hunter’s director, Kevin Chu, has reportedly said she is “not a flower vase” (Chinese equivalent of “not just a pretty face”.)
Her third acting gig will be in a comedy. Personally she wants to work at getting rid of the vase label, pointing to the self-reliant Zhang Ziyi as role model.

At a recent Golden Horse Awards event which she co-hosted, the audience got a dose of her girliness.
She’d asked Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Andy Lau (separately) if she could give them a hug. Would you turn her down? Boyfriends?

Talk is that the low-profile boyfriend is one Scott Qiu, a 36-year-old Taiwanese businessman – their families go back years, she’s fallen for him and he wants to marry soon.

Agent denies Charmaine Sheh's marriage rumours: She's too busy to have time for marriage

Recently the Hong Kong media reported that TVB artists, Charmaine Sheh (佘诗曼) and Kevin Cheng (郑嘉颖) have pretended to break up, using their acting careers as an excuse. The reports have also stated that Charmaine's side of the family have successfully pushed the two to get married - with the wedding plans being complete as soon as early next year in the U.S.

In an exclusive interview with Charmaine Sheh's agent, Ms. Hu denied the rumour, "Actors are very busy. They have no time for getting married."

Regarding Charmaine and Kevin getting married in the U.S next year, Ms. Hu exclaimed, "The media are the ones who told me that she will be getting married. I, myself, don't know!"

Ms. Hu expressed that Charmaine's acting responsibilities have been keeping her very busy for the past six months. After finishing up her role in "Heaven and Earth" in early 2010, Charmaine Sheh will immediately be thrust into acting in another tv series, "Princess Arrives", which will have 30 episodes to and is expected to be take four months for filming to complete. Therefore, Charmaine will have no time to go to the U.S for a wedding.

"Each day, she has two acting jobs, she even has difficulty finding the time to attend promotional events. Also, even to this day, the artists have not yet requested for vacation."

In September, 2009, Charmaine had already gone to Hawaii for vacation. Reports said she was there to prepare for the wedding and meet with Kevin's parents. Suki and Kenny Married: Kenny Wong wore T-Back to welcome "Boob Goddess" Suki Tsui

25 year old "Boob Goddess" Suki Tsui (Suki Chui 徐淑敏) and 37 year old , business man Kenny Wong (黃浩) only dated for two months before getting pregnant.

Yesterday, they were married in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The groom, Kenny drove a Hummer to pick up Suki. The Hummer's license plate was "My Star" which Kenny had indicated meant that Suki was his shining star.

Yesterday, Kenny revealed that the night before he was drinking with friends to bid farewell to his bachelorhood. He had drank too much and when he woke up, he felt so nervous that he forgot his wedding arrangements.

Kenny was also required to read out nauseating love vows declaring his love for his wife. Lastly, he gave away $9,999 in red pockets to retrieve his wife from the bridesmaids.

Afterwards, the couple went to serve tea to the parents. Suki's mom was moved to tears.

Suki was wearing her two carat diamond ring and diamond necklace set. Suki declared, "My ring is worth about half a million and was given to me by my husband. It's the most expensive gift I've received. The necklace was given to me by my mother-in law".

Former lovers, Kevin Cheng and Charmaine Sheh each find "New happiness"

The other day, Kevin Cheng (郑嘉颖) and Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧) were in MongKok filming the new TVB series, "Only You" (Only You只有您). In the show, Yoyo had hurt her left ankle and wished to find a place to have it looked at. However, she was wearing slippers and could barely walk.

While passing by on the street, Kevin spots Yoyo and walks over to support her stating "It's (doctor's office) just around the corner but you're not able to walk there? Let me piggyback you." Kevin then piggybacks Yoyo to the doctor's office. All in all, it took 4 takes for the scene to be successfully filmed.

Even though Kevin was carrying Yoyo on his back while walking back and forth during filming, he didn't seem at all out of breath. While taking a break from filming, Kevin and Yoyo happily chatted with each other. Kevin did not seem to be affected by his break up with rumoured girlfriend, Charmaine Sheh.

Charmaine Sheh (佘诗曼), was also busy with her own life and is filming on the set of TVB's "Heaven and Earth" (天与地) with Moses Chan (陈豪).

Kelly Chen's son was ill; New mom couldn't sleep

Yesterday, Kelly Chen revealed that her son was given the second shot of a vaccine. As a result, he almost developed a fever which worried Kelly to the point of being not able to sleep. He was quickly brought to the hospital's emergency room.

Kelly said "When Jian Jian first woke up this morning, he didn't have a fever and was even playing happily. However in the evening, he started to burn".
With his child sick, Alex Lau, Kelly's husband rushed home to take care of him and Kelly asked the doctor for an explanation.

Kelly exclaimed to Ming Pao (HK newspaper) "The doctor said that this was a common situation. Only if he develops a really high fever should he be rushed to the emergency room. I thought that getting a vaccine for the first time would cause a fever. I never thought that the second time would do the same. This shots have to be done until he turns 4 years old. How pitiful!"

1. Leon Lai and his father. Leon is a younger version of his father! They have the same face shape, nose and smile. They are even standing the same way with one hand in their pants pockets. Mirror images indeed!

2. Jolin Tsai on the right, with her sister on the left and mother in the center. Wow, I cannot believe that Jolin's mom looks so young. She could pass for Jolin's older sister. We can see where Jolin got her big eyes and youthful smile from.

3. Jay Chou with his father in the first picture and his mother in the second and third pictures. Jay definitely epitomizes his father. Yet he looks very similar to his mom as well. Look at how close he looks with his mom. Jay is a mamma's boy for sure.

4. Stephanie Sun and her mom. I think Stephanie and her mom look like they come from different parts of the world! To me, Stephanie looks Chinese and her mom looks Portuguese. They do share the same nose and smile though.

5. Gigi Leung and her brother and mother. If I saw her mom or brother on the street, I wouldn't be able to tell that they are related to Gigi. The only thing I see similar between them all in the picture is that they've tilted their heads back while smiling for the camera. Of course, that may be due to the angle of the camera.

6. Here are the Xu sisters: Barbie Xu with her sister Dee Xu (Da S and Xiao S). The second picture shows their sister. To me, Barbie is the prettiest of the three.

7. Here we see Cecilia Zhang and her mom who looks so young and fit! Cecilia's mom looks more mixed than Cecilia does but their noses and smiles are the same.

8. Andy Lau and his parents. At first glance, Andy looks very different from his parents but upon a closer look, Andy and his father have the same eyebrows, nose and mouth.

Rumors are currently floating around that Vicki Zhao's rich fiance used to date Tracy Ip (葉翠翠) .
